UI/UX Case Study | eCommerce
Music Equipment Rental

Goal
Create a new feature for an existing company called "Castalian Spring". They rent out music room in Berlin and want to go into renting out music equipment for small gigs outside the rooms. The goal of the 10 day project is to go through the entire design thinking process until a tested prototype.
Approach
Our group of 4 UI/UX trainees started by getting to know our client better and took the Berlin Ringbahn to the music rooms. We interviewed the owner and took in the vibe of the physical music rooms. We used diverse methods throughout the entire process, such as user interviews, user persona, market positioning, prototyping, etc.
Challenges
We received the existing style guide of the company which has a very artsy touch, according to the artistic clients (the musicians). This turned out to be challenging on the existing home page when it came to accessibility and usability.
Learnings
Testing, testing, testing! Doing a concept test in multiple iterations as well as testing our prototype as early as possible was not only helpful but also fun - because we were able to improve with every step. In addition, we had a blast with Figma animations.
